How Vinegar Can Keep Your Kitchen Sink Rust-Free
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
Using vinegar to clean your kitchen sink is not only cheap and easy, but it's also natural and, thus, less harmful to the environment.
This nifty hack from
TikTok's @carolina.mccauley suggests pouring a generous amount of vinegar, enough to cover the rust, into a jug before transferring the vinegar into your sink.
Insert a plug into the drain before pouring the vinegar
to avoid wastage and let the vinegar sit in your sink for several hours before draining it and scrubbing rusty areas.
The acetic acid in vinegar loosens up the rust, so you can scrub away the rust easily using a cloth or sponge. Repeat the process if there's still some rust residue left.
