How To Use Fabric To Elevate The Look Of Your IKEA Roman Shades

An easy way to make your home look more luxurious without spending a lot is by covering your plain, functional, IKEA Roman shades with stylish patterned fabric of your choice.

In addition to an IKEA Ringblomma Roman blind, you’ll need your chosen fabric, peel-and-stick tape, small round magnets, a hot glue gun, spray tack adhesive, and scissors.

Place the shade on the fabric, and cut the fabric 2 inches larger than the shade all around. Glue magnets over those already in the shade so each pleat has two magnets per side.

Next, use the spray tack adhesive to glue the back of the fabric to the shade, then flip it so the shade is visible, and cut two holes at the top of the fabric where the hooks are.

Now, apply the peel-and-stick tape along the top, fold over the extra fabric, and stick it to the tape. Repeat this step on the other three edges until the shade is neatly covered.

Glue more magnets onto the back where the other magnets are, then fold the shade up to make creases in the new fabric. Finally, hang up your new stylish, personalized shade.
