How To Use Cloves To Banish Pesky Silverfish From Your Home
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
Cloves naturally contain eugenol, a chemical often used in pest control, which repels silverfish by disrupting their sense of smell and inhibiting their food-seeking abilities.
You can leave whole cloves out in areas where you find the silverfish hiding or see signs of their presence, which usually are the dark and moist parts of the home.
If whole cloves don't seem to remedy the issue, you can also try clove oil, which is concentrated and has a stronger scent that can eradicate silverfish.
You can even combine clove oil with water in a spray bottle and spritz it around your home. Just remember to repeat this process every so often to keep the smell fresh.
