How To Select The Perfect Size Bed For Your Space
By JULIANA LUMAJ
When you add the wrong kind of furniture to a room, it can look unbalanced, so you want to make sure your furniture pieces are proportionate to your room size. Usually, a bed is the largest thing you’ll buy, so it’s crucial to purchase the correct bed size before buying more furniture pieces.
Twin-size beds are typically only 38 inches wide and 75 inches long, and they work best with small bedrooms that are around 70 square feet. If two people are sharing a room, you can maximize your space with bunk beds, and for adults or children that are tall, a Twin XL is a bit longer than the average.
For larger rooms, a full-size bed is 54 inches wide and 75 inches long and is perfect for a couple in a room that is 10 feet by 12 feet. A bedroom that is 10 feet by 10 feet can hold a queen-size bed, but if you want a king-size bed, your room should be at least 13 feet wide and long enough to fit other furniture pieces.
