How To Keep Birds Out Of The Rafters Of Your Home
By KELLY CATLIN
To prevent birds from getting into the rafters of your home and creating nests in your attic, all you need is some porcupine wire, also known as bird spikes.
Porcupine wire is a row of metal wire spikes that deters birds. To use this cost-effective hack, first locate the rafters you suspect birds are landing on.
Next, install the porcupine wire by laying it out and securing it with a staple gun or drill, being mindful of any electrical wires. You’ll only need a few strips of wire.
Porcupine wire won’t hurt birds, making it a humane way of removing unwanted pests. However, the wire can get dirty, so you may need to clean it occasionally.
