Range hoods are usually positioned above a stove, aiding in the extraction of smoke, odors, and fumes during cooking, thereby enhancing air quality and eliminating excess heat.
However, for many homeowners, this appliance can be an eyesore in an otherwise aesthetically pleasing kitchen. Fortunately, there are ways to hide your stove range hood.
For a canopy-style range hood, use a faux cabinet facade to tuck away the vent by placing an upper cabinet box around the hood. Remove the top and the bottom for ventilation.
Alternatively, use drywall to create a surround and conceal the appliance. Paint the drywall the same color as the wall or paint it a different color to make it an accent.
Tiling the surround is also an option. Another possibility is to replace your large range hood with an under-cabinet microwave combination or a ceiling-mounted unit.
