How Often You Should Change Hummingbird Feeder Nectar In The Summer
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
In the summer, it's crucial to change the nectar in your hummingbird feeders daily, especially when temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
This ensures the birds have a fresh supply of food and prevents the accumulation of harmful germs and bacteria, thereby keeping the little visitors safe.
It's recommended to place an outdoor thermometer near the feeder and consistently monitor the weather to determine when the nectar needs changing.
Alongside daily nectar changes, regular cleaning of the feeders with warm water and dish soap is also important for maintaining sanitation and attracting hummingbirds.
