Vinyl floors are comfortable on the feet and provide a touch of elegance at a fraction of the price of other flooring choices. On average, it costs $2,286 to install vinyl floors, but there are many factors that can affect the price.
Labor Costs
Take into consideration that a contractor will typically charge around $36 per hour to install vinyl floors. However, thanks to the locking plank construction, vinyl plank flooring is relatively easy to install, so you may choose to install it yourself and save money.
Plank Selection
In addition to choosing the color of the floor, you should consider core construction, overall thickness, and added topcoat elements. Stone polymer cores are the cheapest, but vinyl flooring ranges from $1 to $6 per square foot, depending on your choice of construction and design.
Flooring Removal
While some flooring materials can be left in place, materials like carpet should be removed before placing vinyl flooring. You'll need to eliminate residue, oils, and gunk from the area, and tile removal typically costs between $1.50 and $4.15 per square foot while carpet removal costs $1 to $1.50 per square foot.
