How Joanna Gaines Uses A Vase To Refresh Her Home After The Holidays
By TESSA HAYLEY HELLBERG
If your home feels a little "meh" once you've taken down your Christmas tree, designer Joanna Gaines recommends replacing it with pretty branches in a vase.
Gaines' hack can bring the joy of every season into your home in an everyday way. Styled right, even dead branches can look beautiful in a vase.
Collect branches from your garden or yard. If purchased, ask the florist to snip the bottoms so they can drink as much water as possible.
You could also go the fake route if you're not keen on the constant refreshes. Amazon sells a variety of faux branches for around $20, so you can get some for each season.
Height is important when it comes to your vase. As Sofia Bloss of Cézanne Floral explained to Martha Stewart, "A high vessel will structurally hold your branches in [place]."
Bloss also suggested opting for a narrow vase to ensure the branches stay up and don't get too unruly. You can use an insert if your vase has a wide opening.
