How Eggshells Can Prevent Cats From Destroying Your Garden
By CYNTHIA ANAYA
Cats tend to lie on plants or eat them, and instinctively cover their waste with soil, turning your garden into their litter box. To deter these felines, use eggshells.
Break down eggshells into pieces — making them small enough to be scattered across your garden but not too small — to create an unfavorable environment for cats.
Rough surfaces like eggshells can poke a cat's paw pads, so they'll likely deter from walking bare paws on the sharp edges of those broken shells.
Cats prefer a soft, granular substance to cover their waste with, which means they likely won't want to dig up those eggshells to expose the soft soil of your garden.
