How Baking Soda Can Come In Handy When Using Super Glue
By SAKSHI KHAITAN
When baking soda comes in contact with super glue, it triggers an exothermic reaction that accelerates the curing process, leading to an immediate hardening of the adhesive.
To utilize this hack, first clean the broken pieces with a damp cloth if they're dirty. Next, apply a thin layer of glue to one of the pieces, and press it against
its counterpart.
Sprinkling baking soda over the joint will cause the pieces to bond instantly. Adding more layers can further increase the glue's mass and improve the joint's structural integrity.
To ensure safety, this procedure should be performed outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, such as near a fan or a fume extractor, while wearing gloves and a respirator.
