How A Thrifted Belt Can Upgrade A Simple IKEA Dresser
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
Economically revamp a simple IKEA TARVA dresser to give it a strikingly rustic and high-end look using an old or thrifted belt, scissors, bolts, and your preferred paint or stain.
First, paint the IKEA pieces and leave them to dry overnight. Then, snip off sections of your belt and fold each one back around on itself to create an opening for your fingers.
This opening will make the "handle" of your dresser, so ensure you measure them correctly and create enough to have one for each
handle on your drawer.
Now, finish the look by nailing the "belt handles" in the drawers and rebuilding the dresser. You could even be creative and mix and match belts if you want to.
