HGTV’s Christina Hall Thinks This Client Flooring Request Is Overrated
By RHIANNON FAITH IRELAND
HGTV design expert Christina Hall has advice for how to install your flooring. Hall actually dissuades homeowners from trying to match the flooring in every room of their home.
Not only will keeping some of the original flooring save money, but it’s also a great option if you’ve bought an older home and want to keep most of the original features.
Although there are a few ways to seamlessly integrate mismatched flooring in your home, you can also find flooring that’s a close match to the section of flooring you want to keep.
In general, whether you opt for solid or engineered wood flooring, a wooden floor is a good option if you want to utilize what's already down in your home.
Carpet is more difficult to color match, but wooden flooring contains different shades and imperfections naturally, so there isn’t as much pressure to find a perfect match.
