Here's Exactly How To Get Rid Of Pink Mold In Your Shower
By ZACHARY MCCARTHY
A shower is meant to be relaxing, but a dirty, moldy shower can ruin the mood. If you notice pinkish stains, more commonly called “pink mold,” it’s not actually mold but the result of bacterial growth that could potentially cause several health issues for those with compromised immune systems.
The good news is pink mold is relatively easy to remove from showers; just throw on rubber gloves, protective eyewear, and get ready to scrub. Mix half a cup of baking soda, a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid, and some water until you have a paste, and then start scrubbing the entire shower and rinse it out with a mixture of half-water and half-vinegar.
Once you’ve removed the pink mold, the best way to prevent it from coming back is to scrub away soap scum, rinse your entire shower after using it, and dry the shower with a towel. Other preventative measures include minimizing absorbent and slow drying items — like a shag shower mat — and running the fan for 15 minutes after you get out of the shower.
