Grow Lavender Indoors As A Beautiful Houseplant. Here's How
By SARA HALCUMB
Lavender is a great addition to any outdoor or indoor space. To help your plant thrive inside, it’s essential to ensure it has the correct sunlight, water, pruning, and soil type.
Since lavender needs five to six hours of sunlight, you should place your pot in a sunny window. If that isn’t possible, you can use LED growing lights for 14 to 16 hours per day.
Lavender also prefers well-draining, slightly alkaline soil. This can be achieved by adding oyster shells to the soil and incorporating pea gravel or perlite into your planter.
Watering too frequently can cause root rot, so you should always let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Prune old flowers regularly as well to encourage new growth.
