With just old-school plastic pumpkins and solar-powered path lights, you can easily create customizable and versatile pumpkin lanterns to complete your yard's Halloween decor.
Buy a plastic Halloween pumpkin bucket for each light you're placing. Remove the bucket handle and drill a big enough hole in the pumpkin's bottom for the light's stake to enter.
Slide the stake through the pumpkin's top and the hole in the bottom. Fit the light top onto the stake and pull it down until the lantern lid fits against the pumpkin's top.
Place them in the yard as you like. Not only do you have no batteries or electric wiring to worry about, but post-Halloween, you can revert the lantern to its original appearance.
