Get Rid Of Fruit Flies With A Citrusy Homemade Trap

When annoying fruit flies start swarming around your fruit, you can eliminate them by creating a homemade trap that uses their favorite treat against them — orange juice.

To make your fruit fly trap, simply pour a ½ cup of orange juice into a small bowl, and cover the top with plastic wrap. Use a rubber band to make sure the plastic wrap stays on.

Poke small fruit fly-sized holes into the plastic wrap so the flies can get into the trap but can’t escape. Place the traps around your kitchen, especially near your fruit bowl.

You can also pour a ½ cup of orange juice into a plastic soda or water bottle and leave the lid off. Most fruit flies won’t be able to escape through the bottle’s narrow opening.
