Easily Hang And Store Long Dresses With These Clutter-Free Closet Tips
By JESSICA DANIELS
An overstuffed closet can lead to some items being more visible, while others such as long dresses are forgotten as they remain out of sight and therefore out of mind.
However, with the creative use of hangers or individual hooks, you could hang long dresses in a way that keeps them visible, even in short, small closets.
One way to hang long dresses is to simply fold your garment at the waist and hang the bodice over one side of the hanger’s horizontal bar and the skirt over the other side.
If your dresses are not easily wrinkled, it might be the best solution. For other dresses that may lose their shape if folded, a two-hanger solution may be the better choice.
To use two hangers, fit the bodice over the first hanger like normal. Then, drape the skirt portion over the horizontal bar of the other hanger, just as in the folding method.
You can use old twist ties, zip ties, or cord organizers to secure the two hangers together and keep them from separating in the closet or disrupting the hanging of your dress.
If you have a door or an area on the wall to use for your long dresses, consider over-the-door storage solutions, like Command hooks, wall-mounted hooks, or simply a nail.
