Don't Have An Air Mattress? This Pool Noodle DIY Is Just What You Need
By JACQUELINE DELIBES
Air mattresses might be a quick solution to accommodate overnight guests, but they can be unreliable. Luckily, you can create a better alternative with the aid of pool noodles.
While it doesn’t quite have the same storage capabilities as an air mattress, this hack turns pool noodles into a comfortable sleeping pod roughly the size of a twin bed.
You’ll need three foam poster boards, about 12 pool noodles to accommodate the proper width and length, a couple of bags of fiberfill, strong craft glue, and twin sheets.
For someone who’s 6 feet tall, glue together two foam poster boards. Then, cut an additional 10 inches from a third board, and glue it to one end, making a 70-inch-by-20-inch base.
Cut the noodles to fit the width of the foam board, and glue them side-by-side horizontally until the length measures 70 inches. When dry, adhere them to the foam board.
Layer several bags of fiberfill over the noodles, and cover them with a fitted sheet that you’ll secure to the back of the board with glue. Then, add the pillows and blankets.
