Does Borax Actually Kill Spiders?
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
Borax, a common household cleaning agent, is often thought to have spider-repellent properties. While it can technically kill a spider, its abilities have some limits.
The cleaning agent could indirectly affect spiders. The spider's outer layer could become damaged if it eats an insect that previously consumed borax.
Given borax's limited effectiveness, a more humane and effective alternative is recommended when removing spiders from your home.
Consider using natural fruits and scents disliked by spiders for a kinder approach, or capture them with a cup and paper, releasing them outside to benefit the ecosystem.
