DIY Vintage Looking Vases Using A Basic Mason Jar
By KRISTY BOWEN
With just a Mason jar, some embroidered lace, and air-drying clay, you can create an eco-friendly, faux-metallic carved vase that’s perfect for a vintage or gothic-inspired room.
First, thoroughly clean the jar with soap and water. Then, use painter’s tape around the center to create a line, and paint half the jar marked off with black acrylic paint.
Once the paint has dried, remove the tape for a clean line. Glue pieces of floral embroidered lace to the jar, and allow some details to go below the painted portion, like leaves.
With the clay, make a braided rope for the jar’s top and smaller molds of flowers for around the jar. Then, use copper metallic paint over the black to give it an aged metal look.
