DIY Storage Shelves To Solve Cluttered Kitchen Countertops
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
If your kitchen countertop is covered with utensils, spices, and other clutter, an easy way to clear space is to add more storage by hanging floating shelves in empty corners.
Instead of buying them, DIY your own triangular corner shelves. First, measure your corner, then cut three 1-by-2-inch boards and trim the ends at an angle so they’ll lie flush.
Cut a triangle from a thicker piece of plywood to fit into the frame. Paint or stain the wood, then attach two of the frame pieces onto a corner of your wall with drywall anchors.
Next, screw the triangular piece onto the mounted frame, then glue the final piece of the frame to the front of your shelf. Repeat this process until all of your shelves are done.
