DIY A Rustic Table Lamp Using An Old Mason Jar
By KRISTY BOWEN
With a store-bought lamp kit and some creativity, you can transform a basic Mason jar into a rustic light fixture. First, drill a small hole into the top of the jar’s aluminum lid.
Use tin snips to make a large enough hole to accommodate the bulb socket attachment. Screw the bulb mechanism into that hole while threading the cord down through the lamp.
To create an outlet for the cord at the bottom, drill a large enough hole along the lower part of the jar. As the drill bit can get hot, make a small pool of water with Playdough.
While this clear Mason jar lamp style fits more rustic home styles like cottage, you can get a more modern look by painting the glass with chalk paint or wrapping it in fabric.
