De-Grime Your Favorite Baking Sheets With This Household Essential
BY MEREDITH EASTWOOD
This common household item, known as an antiseptic, is also a formidable cleaning agent that can tackle the stubborn stains that have taken hold of your beloved baking sheets.
Hydrogen peroxide's effervescent and oxidative nature breaks down baked-on food residue and grease on your baking sheets and is safe for aluminum and non-stick pans.
Adding baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate) to hydrogen peroxide will create an abrasive paste with a pH that enhances its cleaning power.
Generously apply a paste with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to the stained baking sheets. Leave it for a couple of hours to penetrate and loosen the residues.
Wipe away the mixture, and if necessary, scrub the loosened grime. Finally, rinse your baking sheets thoroughly with water and enjoy their restored brilliance.
