If your crepe myrtle grows in the middle of your yard with lots of green leaves in spring but no flowers, it's likely due to the high-nitrogen fertilizer you’re feeding your lawn.
In order to start producing flowers, the tree needs equal amounts of phosphorus and potassium. Ideally, use a fairly balanced fertilizer with an NPK ratio of about 8-8-8.
Apply this in spring as the tree starts to produce buds before rain is expected so it will wash the fertilizer down into the soil so that it can be absorbed by the roots.
