Create Adorable Porch Pumpkins With Leftover Wood Scraps
By JAHAIRA ARTHUR
When it’s time to put up your fall decor, consider adding these beginner-friendly rustic pumpkins to your porch decorations, which you can tweak and reuse for the Christmas season.
You’ll need an 8-foot long 2-by-4 wood plank, wood glue, a wood block, and craft supplies. First, cut your plank into five 10-inch pieces per pumpkin, or longer for giant pumpkins.
Leave the pieces square or curve the edges by slicing off the corners of the two end planks. Lightly sand the five planks, then glue them all together along their 4-inch sides.
Finally, glue the wood block on top for the stem, paint your pumpkin in classic fall colors, apply a coat of waterproof sealant, and tie a rustic raffia ribbon around the stem.
