Create A Stylish Headboard With This Budget-Friendly IKEA Hack
By TRINITY ARCHIE
Headboards are often a strong focal point in a bedroom but can be expensive to buy. Luckily, the IKEA Lagkapten tabletop can serve equally well as a headboard for just $39.99.
Instagram user @disenyaes shares how to set the IKEA Lagkapten up as a headboard. The process is as simple as unpackaging the item and placing it against the wall slightly slanted.
The headboard could scrape against the wall, however, so you might prefer to adhere your headboard to the wall or place it up higher by using French cleats from Amazon for $20.99.
The Lagkapten comes in four colors, but you can also paint it. It’s made of fiberboard, so coat it with solvent-based primer, and then paint it with an oil- or lacquer-based paint.
