Christina Hall's Unique Appliance
For A Multipurpose Kitchen
By TRINITY ARCHIE
In an episode of the HGTV show "Christina on the Coast" titled "Outgrowing Old Spaces," host Christina Hall introduced a unique addition for a multipurpose kitchen: a steam oven.
This appliance draws water into a boiler, heats it, and then releases steam around the food, making it perfect for cooking items like fish and rice that benefit
from steaming.
A steam oven can cook food faster than a traditional convection oven while preserving nutrients — a benefit confirmed by a 2014 study published in Plant Foods for Human Nutrition.
Although a steam oven cannot brown or sear foods, there are models available that combine both steam and convection features, making them a versatile choice for any kitchen.
