To turn a wooden ironing board into a welcome sign, sand it, paint or stain it, then add a design. For metal boards, stencil a design onto its cloth cover with fabric paint.
For hanging storage in the laundry room, remove the ironing board’s legs, paint it, and screw wire baskets onto it. Then, mount it on the wall to hold various laundry items.
Mount your ironing board on the side of your washing machine, behind the door or on a wall, and use it when needed as a laundry room table to fold or sort clothes.
Use a metal ironing board to pot plants, and the extra soil and water will drain through the board’s metal grid. Otherwise, use it as a stand to display your planters.
Remove the ironing board's legs, sand and paint it, then add hooks and hang it in your entryway to hold coats or keys, or mount it in the kitchen for aprons or dishcloths.
