As Amanda Pendelton, a home trends expert with Zillow, says, "On the right home, a shiny new coat of black paint feels classic. It's a high-contrast color, so it really pops."
Neutrals like black are timeless, and they will always play well with versatile palettes and other colors. Black specifically telegraphs sophistication, elegance, and prestige.
In a 2022 study, Zillow found that homes with black doors were outselling similar homes with other door colors by $6,449, impressive since it’s only about a $50 investment.
