Add A Hummingbird Swing To Your Yard And Watch What Happens
By KATE NICHOLSON
If you’re trying to create a welcoming garden for hummingbirds, perches are must-haves. A grippy, shaded hummingbird swing is certain to draw the little birds into your yard.
Not only are hummingbird swings beneficial for the birds, but they’ll up the aesthetics of your garden. Choose one with a sturdy yet flexible hook mechanism that can endure wind.
You should also consider the grip, as the birds favor perches made from real wood or plastic-coated wire. Colorful decorations, beads, and faux flowers can help attract visitors.
The swing can also encourage hummingbirds to visit your feeder if you’ve noticed it becoming neglected. Simply hang the perch within a foot or so of the feeder for best results.
Alternatively, place the swing near flowering shrubs or in a sheltered spot, like under the eaves of your home. This gives them an area to rest that is protected from the elements.
