11 Hidden Places To Look For Wasp Nests Around Your Home
By PAMELA SIEGEL
Furniture
If you see wasps flying under a table, chair, or bench, check under it, as wasps often build nests in the shelter of outdoor furniture from late spring through summer.
Eaves
Hornets and wasps commonly nest under eaves and overhangs of homes, patios, and gazebos. Walk around the perimeter of your home in late spring and summer to check for nests.
Plants
Watch for wasps repeatedly coming and going from plants in your yard, as wasps will build nests on plant stems if they offer enough shelter from the weather and predators.
Plant Pots
In the spring, wasps will sometimes nest in empty outdoor earthenware pots in a sheltered area. Handle these pots carefully in case there’s a wasp nest hidden inside.
Trees
Hornets often build camouflaged nests in trees and bushes near your outdoor entertainment areas. These nests must be removed, as hornets will attack if they feel threatened.
