Experience
Fran is an award-winning writer and editor with a background in broadcasting, journalism, and digital media. She has interviewed experts in multiple fields, from architects and authors to artists and master gardeners. She is particularly drawn to eco-friendly living. As managing editor of the West End Word newspaper in St. Louis, Missouri, Fran wrote about the many eclectic properties in the community. She participated in a number of home and garden tours while chronicling the restoration of 19th century mansions and mid-century modern homes. Fran learned many of her DIY skills as the owner of a 100-year-old cottage perpetually in need of TLC. She loves investigating the latest trends in the home and garden space. She is an avid gardener who is currently adapting to the Florida growing season after a lifetime of cultivating roses and native perennials in the Midwest.
Education
Fran earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois, and holds certificates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in environmental health writing and health literacy.
