Cottage Gardening, DIY Home Decor, Healthy Cleaning Hacks
- Emily has been studying design, plants, and organics for over 20 years.
- She understands the struggle of gardening in Georgia red clay and longs to return to the loamy soils of her family farm in New England.
- After completing the famous IKEA Built-In Bookshelf Hack to create a giant library wall, Emily started her latest home improvement project: laying a winding flagstone path from her sunroom to a kitchen garden that could probably use some weeding.
Experience
Emily has worked as a professional writer and designer since 2003. She was a design editor at Paste Magazine, covering stories ranging from handmade holiday gifts to the release of an R2D2 mini fridge. Over the years, Emily honed her design aesthetic through roles with notable brands like Amazon, Nintendo, and Serta. She joined Static Media as a House Digest news writer to cover stories about eco-friendly living, increasing biodiversity in outdoor spaces, and upcycling ideas for the home.
