Christina Ricci Used To Live In An Unexpectedly Modest Home

Like a dreamy escape, "Sleepy Hollow" star Christina Ricci once owned a charmingly discreet bungalow nestled in the posh Hollywood Hills. Located in the desirable Los Feliz neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, the actress originally purchased the cozy two-bedroom, two-bathroom home for approximately $1.5 million in 2005. Represented by Nourmand & Associates with Adam Sires and Michael Nourmand as listing agents, the traditional home was put on the housing market two times until it sold, per the Los Angeles Times. Originally listed for about $1.7 million in early 2014, the property had many tours, but no closings. By November of that same year, the modest home sold for $1.37 million. Unfortunately, it was a $135,000 decrease for Ricci without a confident capital gain.

Petite as 5'1" Ricci herself, the small home boasts a covered patio, swimming pool, and terraced gardens with a quirky retro farmhouse interior design. With 1,891 square feet, the property may have been purchased by Ms. Wednesday as an investment opportunity rather than a main residence, as it was put up for lease in 2012 for $10,000 a month. According to the Trulia listing, Ricci's former property is priced at about $2.5 million, yet states it's not currently available for sale or rent.

With an eye for classic designs, the actress's real estate portfolio also includes a Mayan Revival-style home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (also in California) and a two-unit townhouse in Brooklyn's historic Fort Greene neighborhood. Read on to learn more about Ricci's previous property!

Inside Christina Ricci's quiet Hollywood Hills bungalow

With Christina Ricci's long list of films, her characters are often peculiar yet appealing, as is her former one-story home in Los Feliz. The property is specifically burrowed in the foothills of the prime celebrity-infested subdivision of The Oaks, per Andrews & Robert Luxury Properties. Adjacent to Griffith Park Observatory, the 5417 Red Oak Drive residence offers plenty of privacy amidst the encompassing hills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Built in 1957, the exterior is full of vintage charm with diamond-shaped leaded glass windows, along with a gated driveway and curved stone pathway to the front door.

The chic home features an open floor plan with conventional ceilings and black crown molding. A tasteful retro farmhouse style is present throughout with each room's subtle character like the quirky wallpaper, eclectic furnishings, and long smooth drapery. Each bedroom comes with an ensuite, including the master bedroom with an adjoining sitting area/study. Natural light is also a guest here with the skylight in the living room and a bright chef's kitchen, equipped with high-end appliances and a convenient breakfast nook. Fit for a "mermaid," the loveliest part of the home is the walk through the French doors that open to the patio and lagoon like pool and spa, along with stone steps that lead to a private garden gate. Fit for a small family, and the "Penelope" star, the 1/4 acre lot is a private oasis, perfect for year-round entertaining, per the Daily Mail.
