TikTok Is Loving This Toilet Seat Cleaning Hack
Cleaning your toilet is probably not your favorite chore, but luckily TikTok has an abundance of toilet cleaning hacks to help you with this sometimes gross chore. TikTok has helped make people's lives easier with many cleaning hack videos, so it's no surprise that there are tons of toilet cleaning clips to watch. In The Know described a TikTok toilet seat cleaning hack by Sara (@shessunday) that will change how you clean your toilet.
In her viral TikTok, Sara shows how to unclip the toilet seat from the bowl to clean behind it. She shows that you can just pop up the top of the clips and remove the seat, giving you access to that hard-to-reach spot between the toilet seat and the tank. Then you can simply clip the seat back on when you are done cleaning. Although this toilet cleaning hack seems amazing, it might not work on your toilet. Only some toilet seats unclip in the way Sara showed, so you'll have to check your toilet seat to see if you can use this hack.
How to clean your toilet
So now you know the viral TikTok toilet seat cleaning hack, but how do you properly clean your entire toilet? Good Housekeeping has an easy-to-follow guide on toilet cleaning that explains everything you need to do to keep your toilet clean and disinfected. You'll need a few supplies, including a bristle toilet scrubbing brush, gloves to wear while cleaning, toilet cleaner, and disinfecting wipes or spray. It's easiest to start with the toilet bowl first because you want those cleaning products to sit in there for a while. To clean your toilet bowl, coat the entire bowl with cleaner starting under the rim and working your way down, then use the toilet brush to scrub the cleaner in the bowl. Let the cleaner sit in the toilet bowl according to the package directions, usually for a few minutes.
To disinfect the rest of the toilet, spray the entire toilet with a cleaning spray or wipe it with disinfecting wipes. This is when you can unclip the toilet seat using the TikTok toilet seat cleaning hack. Let the spray sit for a few minutes, and then wipe away any condensation left. It is recommended to clean your toilet every few days if someone in the house is sick, or once every week or two, depending on your situation. And don't forget to occasionally clean your toilet cleaning supplies, like the toilet brush.
