All Of Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith's Lavish Homes Over The Years
Actor Will Smith has had a pretty incredible career, starring in blockbuster movies such as "Men in Black," "Aladdin," "I, Robot," and "Independence Day," among a slew of others. His wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, has also had her fair share of hits, including "The Matrix" movies, "The Nutty Professor," and "Scream 2."
According to Us Weekly, Will and Jada married in 1997 and started creating a real estate profile from the get-go. As per Celebrity Net Worth, the couple has a total net worth of around $400 million combined, which has allowed them to buy some stellar properties across the country. It turns out the couple owns superb mansions worth millions in Pennsylvania, California, and Hawaii — oh, and an RV on wheels worth $2.5 million (via Architectural Digest). Read on and take a look at all of the homes that Will and Jada have purchased during their decades together.
The Smiths purchased a mansion in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1997 for $937,000
Will Smith was born and raised in West Philadelphia, so it's no surprise that this area would be a top pick for him to invest in real estate and be close to family. Per Us Weekly, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith started their romance after Jada auditioned to be Will's girlfriend for "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." While she didn't ultimately get the role (that went to Nia Long), Jada did end up stealing Will's heart. After tying the knot, the mansion in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania was the couple's first property.
According to Variety, the successful duo paid just under a million at $937,000 for the 8,000-square-foot home, which has plenty to do on the expansive grounds, including a swimming pool and tennis court. A year later, in 1998, the couple bought another home — a smaller, modest home at just 2,165 square feet (well, smaller compared to their 8,000 square foot home!) for $700,000 a few miles north of Philadelphia. The first property is only 30 minutes from West Philadelphia and kick-started the couple's massive real estate holdings that span two decades.
The Smith's Hidden Hills, California Mansion was purchased in 2003 for $3.4 million
According to House Beautiful, you may recognize the following address. Hidden Hills, California, is an exclusive neighborhood and is located in the West San Fernando Valley. The area lures a slew of celebrities from Jennifer Lopez to Miley Cyrus ... and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, of course.
The couple scooped up a $3.4 million, 6,000-square-foot, Mediterranean-style mansion in 2003, located in a gated community while they were building their massive $42 million Calabasas mansion (which we'll get you the details on next). The Smith's Hidden Hills home has enough room for the entire family with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. However, in 2017, the couple's son, Jaden Smith, took up residence in the home. Per TV Guide, Jaden starred in 2006's "The Pursuit of Happyness" and 2013's "After Earth" alongside his famous father, as well as in 2010's "Karate Kid."
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's Calabasas, California compound is worth $42 Million
As we mentioned, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith lived in their pad in Hidden Hills while they built the massive 25,000-square-foot adobe-style residence that sits on 150 acres from 2003 to 2010. The sprawling mansion boasts nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. According to Architectural Digest, the estate was designed by Stephen Samuelson, architect Harry Perez-Daple, and Judith Lance, a noted interior designer. "For Will and me, this home was always a spiritual endeavor," Jada told Architectural Digest. "We're very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land." You also may recognize the home since it's where Jada films her highly successful show, "Red Table Talk."
House Beautiful notes that the home's most unique feature might be that it has its own zip code (yes, it's that large!). The outlet also shares some other pretty impeccable features, including room for eight cars in the garage. There's also a recording studio where daughter, Willow Smith, recorded her 2010 song "Whip My Hair," and a movie theater where the family can re-watch some of their best movies. The abode also overlooks a lake and has a meditation room that Jada loves. As for Will, he loves a gazebo that sits out on the lake where he likes to clear his head, as told during their interview with Architectural Digest (via Today).
Will Smith owns an ultra-luxurious $2.5 million RV dubbed The Heat
