The Garden-Inspired Color That's Trending In Summer 2025

Pinterest declared dill green the color of summer 2025, and it only makes sense. From embracing earthy decor and the obsession with all things pistachio to the sage green craze and last year's brat summer, green has been a trend-setting color for a hot minute. This latest trend has a little bit of everything that's made green so popular in the past. Dill green isn't as muted as sage or pistachio, nor is it as bright as Charli XCX's signature neon. It falls somewhere in the middle, with Pinterest describing it as "tangy" thanks to its unexpected brightness mixed with soft yellow undertones.

Elsewhere, Pantone is also packing its own trending shades of green to incorporate into your home decor. For the color expert company, dill green is a little different from Pinterest's vision. It's greyer, coming much closer to the color you'd find in the leaves of an olive tree than the aromatic herb. Similarly, Benjamin Moore offers shades named dill weed, chopped dill, and dill pickle that are softer and more neutral-leaning than Pinterest's color of the summer. Regardless of variations, all of them have a similar vibrancy that distances dill green from its more serene predecessors.

How to bring dill green into your home

There are two main ways to incorporate dill green into interior design — either play into its connection with nature or enhance its more playful side. For the first option, pair dill green with other shades you commonly find in the great outdoors. This trend presents a great opportunity to jump into the world of biophilic interior decor, or the design philosophy that embraces organic materials and all the benefits that come from bringing a bit of outside inside. Here, dill green can be brought in as an accent color in upholstery, textiles, and art pieces, or it can take over the walls for an immersive, fantasy garden-like feel. It pairs perfectly with warm neutrals and natural materials like wood and stone. It also complements any pops of green introduced by houseplants for those with a green thumb.

On the other side of this dill green coin is the color's underlying kittenish spirit. It's the perfect backdrop for a maximalist style. Think of it as a green pasture that can be sprinkled with the bright, bold colors of wildflowers, like pink, orange, yellow, blue, and purple. Consider painting a piece of large furniture like a bookcase or a dresser in dill green and then adorning it with fun accessories in contrasting colors. Find a garden-inspired wallpaper with a dramatic pattern or go for stripes and other geometric designs. The great thing about this color is its versatility. Besides, summer is all about carefree fun, so don't be afraid to experiment.
