Empty toilet paper rolls might seem like the kind of item that you should aim to get rid of as soon as possible. However, they have surprising uses in what seems like an endless number of DIY projects. They can be used to organize your cluttered desk, or prevent your cords from turning into a tangled mess. You can even reuse old toilet paper rolls to DIY a rustic tiered vase for surprisingly attractive home décor. @fastdiy on TikTok shows us how they took an empty toilet paper roll and two paper towel rolls, and glued decorative sticks to the outside to make a set of neat vases for faux plants.

Interested in trying this DIY out? It could be a great way to touch up the décor in your living room, bedroom, or bathroom. In addition to the empty paper rolls and decorative sticks, you'll need to get a couple coils of sturdy twine, some hot glue, and a flat sheet of leftover cardboard. You'll also need a sharp knife or a pair of scissors for cutting the sticks down to the correct size. The finished product is sure to catch the eye and accent your existing interiors, whether they're rustic and traditional or sleek and modern. Just add it to an end table and you'll have one of the most stylish ways to decorate the corners of your home.

How to make a tiered vase from leftover toilet paper rolls

To begin, take one of your paper towel rolls and cut it down to a height that's slightly taller than your toilet paper roll. Then, arrange your three cardboard rolls in descending order, with the unaltered paper towel roll on the left of the cut roll, and the toilet paper roll on its right. Next, hold decorative sticks up against each roll so that their top edges are an inch above the top of each roll. Mark where the sticks meet the bottom of their respective rolls, and use these marks as guides for cutting down enough sticks to fit all the way around the outsides of the rolls. Attach the sticks to the outsides of the rolls with hot glue, and connect the rolls to one another with the same adhesive. Finally, cut down a flat piece of cardboard to serve as the base for the décor piece, and then wrap a few lengths of twine around the bottom sections of the vases. Use more of your hot glue to add these finishing touches.

Interested in sprucing up your completed tiered vase? Try adding a touch of acrylic paint to give your project a more vibrant, uniform color. A twine or ribbon bow tie for each vase could also be a nice touch. You could also change out the faux flowers in the vases every few months to decorate for the season without taking up more space.
