Decorate For Spring With A Luxe Look Alike From The Dollar Tree
When spring approaches, you probably start thinking about ways to decorate your home to celebrate the arrival of the season while sticking to your budget. Unfortunately, a quick browse through the websites of popular home decor retailers reveals that store-bought spring decor can get pretty expensive. For example, the moss covered Fresh Ivy Bunny Topiaries from Pottery Barn are priced at over $100. Thankfully, you can recreate your own look-alike version of this piece at home using items from Dollar Tree. Simply stack and glue plastic bowls together to form the body of your bunny. You can then glue ears to the top. Once the body is fully assembled, just cover it in faux moss and add fun details, like a pastel bowtie, to complete the luxe look.
To create this DIY spring decor piece, you'll need two of the Large Plastic Bowls, two of the Fluted Serving Bowls, a decoration with bunny ears (like the Bunny Ear Tabletop Easter Décor), a floral foam block, and enough green floral moss to cover your rabbit. With the exception of the $5 Tabletop Easter Décor piece, each of these items are only $1.25. All in all, it's much more affordable to create your own moss bunny to decorate your home for Easter than it is to purchase Pottery Barn's pricey version.
How to create a luxe moss bunny to decorate your home
To create this Dollar Tree Easter decor, start out by gluing the Large Plastic bowls to one another with the top of the bowls facing each other. Use hot glue and/or E6000. Next, glue the Fluted Serving Bowls on top following that same procedure. Now, you're ready to give your bunny its ears.
The content creator completed this step by rounding out a floral foam block and disassembling an Easter bunny head decor piece. However, this item isn't available on the Dollar Tree website at the time of writing. You could try to find it inside of a store location in person, or simply hot glue the Bunny Ear Tabletop Easter Décor on top as an alternative. When you're done, coat your bunny in floral moss, using hot glue to attach the material. Cover it in hairspray to keep everything intact. If you aren't a fan of the green moss, you could glue the Homtable Faux Fur Pom Poms all over your bunny for a more classic look.
Your final step is to customize your Easter decor piece however you'd like. Although the content creator added a pink bow, you could also glue on a few of the Janinka Fake Mini Flowers. Use your completed bunny as a table centerpiece, place it beside your front door, or find another place for it in your home that you love. If you would prefer a quicker alternative, you could also purchase the Natural Green Flocked Bunny Figurines from Dollar Tree for $3 instead.
