No One Will Ever Guess Your Organizer Is Made From Upcycled Pringles Cans
When you think of a can of Pringles, you probably picture these delicious chips and maybe a few memories of getting your hand stuck while reaching for the last one. What sets these chips apart from other snacks is their unique packaging. And that very packaging is great for so many DIYs. They're a cheap way to get some sturdy cardboard tubes that you can reuse for tons of projects (like a Pringles can candle mold). One idea is to create an attractive organizer for your pens with upcycled Pringles cans.
We know what you're thinking: Pringles cans are not very classy. But don't worry, this DIY actually lets you transform them into something completely new and different. No one will ever guess that these were once chip cans.
For this DIY project, you will need four short Pringles cans (the smaller snack size version). To cover them up and make them aesthetically pleasing, get some flexible material, like an Andstar bamboo placemat and sushi rolling mat. To attach everything in this hack, all you need is a stapler and a hot glue gun. As you'll see, there are plenty of ways to adapt this hack to make this DIY truly your own.
How to turn Pringles cans into pretty pen organizers
This hack is ridiculously simple. Place the Pringles cans next to each other and use a stapler to attach them together. The cans seem robust, but they're actually just cardboard lined with some foil, which a stapler can easily pierce through. If you don't have a stapler, use a few dots of hot glue to attach them. Next, cut your placemat to have a piece the same height as your Pringles cans. Wrap the piece around the cans and attach it using hot glue.
There you go: a beautiful pen holder! But you can use it for plenty of other things, like makeup brushes and paintbrushes, kitchen items like cutlery, chopsticks, or straws, or bathroom items like Q-tips. That's not all: You can do this same hack with the full-size Pringles cans if you'd like something taller. That way, you can use your DIY organizer for kitchen utensils like spatulas. If you want, you can use the same method to cover just one or two cans instead of four. Just cut the placemat to the appropriate size.
And there are plenty of other things you can use to cover the cans. You can decorate them with contact paper to liven up your space. This is especially helpful if you don't have a glue gun since it's stick-and-peel. You can also use fabric scraps and attach them to the can with some hot glue. This is a clever way to repurpose old clothing in your home if donation isn't possible, but just make sure that they're thick enough to hide the Pringles logo and color of the can.
