Everyone's Favorite Costco Sleeper Sectional Now Has A Chair Version

It's no secret that Costco's furniture section has amassed a drool-worthy catalogue of affordable but high quality couches. The retailer has plenty of Thomasville sofas that are well worth buying, considering their good reviews as well as the durability and quality guarantee. Plus, Costco delivers furniture directly to your front door (so long as you order online) and has a "Costco Direct" program that offers major discounts if you buy a few items at once. And shoppers are now discovering that the warehouse chain has a chair version of the beloved Thomasville couch that even pulls out into a small bed.

The Thomasville Dillard Fabric Convertible Sleeper Chair retails for $699 and qualifies for Costco Direct savings. At the time of writing, the chair was on sale for $200 off, which means it's likely relatively easy to reduce the overall cost by shopping a sale or pairing this purchase with other pieces (like other best-rated Costco living room furniture) to get the Costco Direct discount. The piece is a match with the Thomasville Lowell Sectional Couch, which seats six people comfortably and comes in a chic, light gray hue. The Lowell series also contains add-ons like an armless corner chair, extra floating ottomans, and an armless chair that you can buy to fill out an entire room with matching furniture. And now you can add a convertible chair into the mix as a comfy seat or pull-out bed for a single guest.

What to know about the Thomasville convertible chair

Beyond matching with other Costco favorites, the Thomasville Dillard has plenty of other pros and cons worth considering. For one, the piece is unique for its ability to convert into a twin sized bed. The chair on its own measures 41 inches long and 52 inches wide — already large and cozy for an accent chair. But when you pull out the contraption between the two front legs, the back of the chair slides down next to the seat cushion, converting the chair into a bed. You don't need to add a mattress, either: Simply grab your favorite pillows and blankets, and you've got a bed in the middle of your living room.

However, the comfort of the chair is up for debate. Many reviewers praised the chair's firm cushions in reviews, saying things like, "They are very firm but love that they are so they don't lose shape." Some negative reviews compared the couch to a rock and bemoaned the cushions. "When you sit on it, it's surprisingly hard," one customer wrote. "It's not hard like cheap sofas and their super firm foam cushions. It's hard like there is not enough cushion at all." Others complained that the bed felt uneven when pulled out and that the material didn't withstand weight. Conversely, five-star reviews mentioned that they didn't have these same issues, so it might be worth brushing up on Costco's return policy if you're considering investing in this furniture item.
