You'd Never Know These Luxurious Candlestick Holders Were Made From Old Jar Lids

A metal glass jar lid is one of those items that most people have within their homes at any given time. You probably dispose of these lids once you no longer have a use for them, but they can actually be transformed into some pretty neat decor pieces. In fact, you can use a metal glass lid to create a luxurious candlestick holder. The end result is so impressive that you'd never know it's made out of such an unexpected item. To create this DIY candle holder, all you have to do is glue a bottle cap onto the lid so that you can slide a candlestick inside of it. You can then decorate the lid by gluing on marbles and adding a metal ring to use as a handle.

Once all of the materials are in place, spray paint the candle holder in a color of your choice as the final step. A gold or silver metallic spray paint gives the DIY a luxurious touch, but you may also want to coat it in a paint color that matches your existing home decor. When you're done, place the finished candle holder on a coffee table, a side table, or any other safe location around your home. You can then slide a candlestick inside and illuminate it to fill your living room with cozy lighting.

How to create a candlestick holder with an old jar lid

To create this DIY, start out by gluing a plastic bottle cap onto the back of your metal lid. Make sure that a candlestick would fit into the cap. You can test it out beforehand by attempting to slide the candle inside of it to ensure it will fit. When it's time to glue on your marbles, you'll need to be sure to use a product like the MITREAPEL Glue with Activator. Applying the activator spray over the glue will ensure it dries right away. This way, you do not have to worry about the marbles rolling out of place before they dry. If you like the look shown in the video, stack the marbles closely together to one side of the DIY candlestick holder. Otherwise, feel free to create your own design. For example, you could stack some of the WURONXIN Unfinished Wooden Blocks onto the lid to create a geometric look.

Next, glue on your large metal ring that will serve as the handle. You can use the Picowe Steel O-Ring for this step. Go ahead and apply your chosen spray paint color when done. To customize this candlestick holder even further, you could blast it with a coat of glitter spray so that it really makes a statement. Additionally, it's also a smart idea to glue the bottle cap onto a tall wooden craft block so that your candlestick is elevated.
