The Dollar Tree Jar Easter Decor DIY That Gives Cuteness Overload

Eggs are one of the most popular symbols of Easter, along with bunnies. But what would darling cottontails do without carrots? Well, they'd eat plenty of other parts of your garden, that's what. But image-wise, rabbits and carrots are a natural pairing to get into the spring holiday spirit. Dollar Tree's Jute Carrot Easter Decor is too adorable to pass up this season. A decorated Mason jar full of them, topped off with a tag reminding all that bunny treats are found within, is a unique way to decorate your home for Easter.

Make a snack station for the Easter bunny with a Mason jar or a repurposed wide-mounted glass jar from spaghetti sauce, pickles, or whatever you have in your recycling bin. Along with a six-pack of jute carrots, pick up some floral moss, a roll of ribbon in a pattern that strikes your fancy, and a pack of Crafter's Square Chalkboard Tag Clothespins. As an extra accent, also purchase a pack of buttons, some small faux flowers, or even a small Easter party favor.

You'll also need a hot glue gun or craft glue, scissors, and a fine-tipped chalk marker or a white gel pen. As long as it's a light color that will stand out on the black chalkboard background, pastel-colored chalk or ink could add just what your final creation needs.

Bunny snack jar DIY

If you've raided the recycling bin for a jar, get it ready for reuse first. Check for chips and remove stickers; you can easily clean labels off glass jars using nothing but water. Add a few dabs of glue to the back of a length of ribbon. Wrap it around the base of the jar, and tie a generously-sized bow. On a chalkboard tag, write an expression like "bunny treats" or "Easter bunny snacks". You can clip the tag to part of the ribbon that's encircling the jar, or remove the clip attachment, and glue the tag directly to the ribbon. Glue an accent piece to the center of the bow.

Place a handful of floral moss in your jar; once the carrots are inside, the moss should compress to about a 2-inch thick mat at the base. Set the carrots tip-down into the jar. If the carrots sit too deeply in the jar, add a bit more moss to the base. Screw a simple Mason jar ring around the top to leave the jar open, or add a lid to keep out dust. If you're repurposing a jar with a metal lid, you can pretty it up with a bit of paint and/or a decoupage image of a spring flower or another seasonal motif.

Jars for the rest of the family

The "rule of three" is a staple decorating strategy, so why not flesh out a trio of jars by making one for pets and one for humans, too? After all, you'll have lots of material left over from just making one jar. For continuity's sake, set up the exterior of two more jars just like you did the first one. If you'd rather trade out something colorful for the moss, check out new-and-improved Easter grasses made from paper. Plastic-based grass contributes to plastic pollution and can be hazardous to pets and birds that visit your yard. Go green with something like Wittocs Easter Green Grass, or spring for some sustainable pastels with FUSHENMU Easter Grass that comes in white, green, pink, lavender, yellow, and blue. Instead of matching triplet jars, you can also outfit each one with a different yet complementing ribbon color or pattern.

Label your additional jars like you did the first one, with phrasing like "human treats," "people treats," "pet treats," or even substituting a person or pet's name before the word "treats." Add your family members' favorite seasonal snacks to the jar. For ultimate cuteness, keep with the carrot theme; pick up some carrot-shaped gummies or wrapped chocolates for human enjoyment and appealingly orange Dole Fresh for Pets Freshly Fetched Lasting Chews made from real carrots for your puppy friend(s).
