Why LED Diffuser Lights Are The Best Option For Any Garage Man Cave

There are a number of hacks for your garage that will make it a more pleasant place to spend time, whether as a workshop, a games room, or however else you choose to use it. One thing that's often overlooked is the lighting. It's either a couple of feeble bulbs or some old and dusty fluorescent tubes. Upgrading those to LED tubes is one way to fix a dark and gloomy garage, but the latest LED diffuser lights have a couple of advantages that could make them an even better option for your man cave.

The most noticeable feature of LED diffuser lights is that they are deformable. They look somewhat like a flower, with a central hub and between three and eight "petals," depending on the model. Each is independently hinged and can easily be moved to shape the light. They can provide either a large pool of illumination or a beam that's focused at, for example, a bench or a vehicle engine bay.

Specifications vary, but compared to a standard bulb, they produce significantly more brightness. A 100-watt incandescent produces around 1,600 lumens. The 150-watt LED diffuser light from Tanbaby delivers 15,000 lumens and is by no means unusual. The color temperature of the light is also important. Most LED diffusers are rated at 6,500 Kelvin. This mimics natural light on a sunny day and actually helps you concentrate better. The diffuser dramatically reduces shadows, so you won't shade whatever it is you're working on.

Even more reasons for switching to LED diffusers

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, LEDs use 75% to 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs. LED diffuser lights may have a life of up to 55,000 hours. That's over six years if they were left on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Yes, upgrading to these lights will cost you a little more initially, but they should more than repay that investment over time.

If you've currently got standard E26/E27 screw-in light fittings, you'll find diffuser LEDs swap straight in with zero modification. Converting from fluorescent tubes requires a little more work but shouldn't be too challenging for most DIY enthusiasts. It's a minor task if you need to call in a contractor. LED diffuser lights don't flicker like fluorescents can, and although they do get warm, they don't get hot enough to burn your fingers like ordinary bulbs do.

There are numerous ways to turn your garage into a fun or functional room. Upgrading to LED diffuser lights will mean it always has the right level of brightness in the right places.
