Clear Bathroom Countertops With A Crafty Dollar Tree Storage DIY

One of the places in your home that is easily prone to excess clutter is the bathroom, especially the countertops. There are hairbrushes, toothbrushes, skincare products, makeup, and more that all need to be easily accessible for a practical morning routine. To keep your items both in reach and organized, consider this two-tiered, basket-based Dollar Tree storage DIY.

Start this project with two gold wire trays, a four-count pack of wood dowels, some wood craft cubes, a white foam board, and some peel-and-stick wallpaper. When deciding on what peel-and-stick wallpaper to purchase, consider the current design of your bathroom and what best matches. If you don't like the gold color of the trays, take a moment to spray-paint it before constructing your final project. And once you've found all the items for this DIY, consider grabbing some Dollar Tree storage bins that can be used in smart ways to organize your home.

How to make this Dollar Tree DIY

Of the many items you can use to organize your bathroom, this DIY is both easy and fun to make. Take the foam board you found at the Dollar Tree and cut it to the size of the bottom of the tray. Then, cover the top of the board with the peel-and-stick wallpaper of your choice. Repeat this for the other tray. One draw back of this design is that the foam board isn't waterproof. To remedy this, simply grab a clear spray sealer and coat both sides and the edges of the foam board after you have already added the wallpaper. This helps protect your design from water damage. Once the foam boards are dry, hot glue them to the bottom of each tray.

Next, paint four dowels and eight cubes a color to match your wallpaper design. You could also stain the wood for a more natural look. Hot glue one cube on the bottom and top of each dowel, then glue these dowels to the top of one of the trays. One dowel should go in each corner. Glue the other side of the dowel to the bottom corners of the other tray. When completely dry, your project is ready to be used as a bathroom organizer. It would also be awesome in other parts of the house, such as your bedroom or on a desk.
