Stay Organized With Ease Using A Magnetic Dollar Tree Cutting Board DIY
There's nothing better than a simple organization DIY that is cute, practical, and cheap! It's the perfect trifecta, and we've got yet another Dollar Tree kitchen organization hack that fits the bill. Transform a bamboo cutting board into a notepad and pen holder that will keep you organized with a modern, naturalist look. Plus, it's a great way to utilize vertical space in your kitchen, or anywhere for that matter! Even though it's made with a cutting board, this magnetic notepad holder will look just as cute in a home office on a whiteboard or filing cabinet as it does on the fridge.
All you need to make this handy magnetic notepad are a few Dollar Tree supplies and some household items. Pick up one of these adorably little bamboo cutting boards along with a small notepad and a pack of magnetic buttons. Grab a set of office binder clips and heavy-duty metal clips, too, if you don't already have some lying around.
Simply hot glue a metal clip to the top of the board to hold the notepad as well as four magnetic buttons to the corners of the back of the board. To make the pen holder, glue a small strip of thick elastic to either side of a binder clip (making a loop), clip it to the side of the board, and slip a pen through the elastic loop. Easy!
Ideas to customize your magnetic notepad holder
These wooden cutting boards are one of many underrated Dollar Tree items for DIY projects. While we love the natural wood look of the boards, they also make a perfect blank canvas for any design or embellishment. You could even dress up your chopping board project with a Dollar Tree wall decal and change it out with the seasons. Scrapbook paper is another great option; just cover the front of the board with the paper, and glue some ribbon around the edge for a decorative frame. Or, skip the notepad altogether, paint the board with chalk paint, and use the notepad clip to hold a thin eraser instead. Size the elastic pen holder for a piece of chalk, and attach it to the top so it won't fall out.
If you would rather forgo the magnets and hang your notepad holder instead, use a paddle cutting board and hang it on a wall by the handle for an adorable farmhouse kitchen message board. Dollar Tree often carries small plastic paddle cutting boards, but if you can't find them, the Chef Craft Plastic Paddle Cutting Board is an inexpensive alternative at $7. The handle makes it easy to hang anywhere while also providing an opportunity for a decorative embellishment, like tying on a rustic jute cord bow or decoupaging the handle with a fun design.
