Repurpose Empty Coffee Containers Into Handy Bathroom Organizing Solutions

The first cup of coffee in the morning is a treasured ritual for many, but don't you hate when there's nothing but sadness when you hit the bottom of the coffee container? Your first instinct may be to put the empty container in the recycling bin, but with a bit of creativity, it can be a handy bathroom organizing solution. An empty coffee container, made of plastic or metal, can be repurposed to help you organize all sorts of bathroom essentials, be it haircare products, bandaids, or even toilet paper.

There are a variety of reasons why you might want to repurpose coffee containers around the house. Not only are they readily available for many coffee aficionados, but the practice lets you get new use out of the container. Unfortunately, most coffee canisters can't go into the recycling bin  thanks to their use of mixed materials, like their foil interior lining and metal bottom. In addition, you might come across some large plastic coffee containers that you might not be able to recycle in your area. With that in mind, here are some great ways to put them to use in your bathroom.

Creative and handy bathroom organization

Reusing a coffee container may be one of the best tips to keep your bathroom clutter-free because they come in various sizes and can hold a variety of things. You can even keep your extra toilet paper organized and accessible with an easy DIY toilet paper holder. First, take three large round metal coffee containers, ones that hold at least 24 ounces or more of coffee. Then, carefully remove the bottoms of two of them with a can opener. Once you have the cans prepared, stack and glue them all together, with the two bottomless cans on top. You'll then be able to paint and decorate it how you like. One of the easiest ways is with Mod Podge and scrapbook paper, plus any embellishments that you like.

You can even use this DIY to create cute storage that's decorated to hold larger items, such as lotion or sunscreen. If you're into a rustic chic look, you can cover them with burlap or other types of rough materials, such as the KINGLAKE Natural Jute Twine String. Keep the lid and cover it as well, and you'll have a discreet storage option that looks great.

Using your coffee canister to organize and hide a toilet brush

There's another handy way to repurpose your empty coffee canister in your bathroom, and it's for one of the less-savory items to store — the plunger. It's necessary, but honestly, do you really want to see it? If you're tired of sticking your toilet brush into the cheap plastic holder it typically comes with, try this idea instead. You can do this storage hack with either a plastic or metal canister, but it works best with designs that feature the peel lids. This DIY is also a great way to make the most of leftover peel-and-stick wallpaper

First, you'll need to cut a hole in the lid, then you can decorate the entire exterior of the can with a design of your choice, like the Simon & Siff Vintage Wallpaper. When cutting out the wallpaper to fit, don't forget to accommodate the hole. The can now neatly hold your toilet plunger or brush, ready for when you need it, but tucked away in a stylish container. You could even do this project with two cans, and use one can for the plunger, while the other is for your toilet brush. You can also use coordinating wallpaper to make a matching set, perfect for the guest room.
