DIY A Rustic Pottery Barn Fruit Bowl Dupe Using Dollar Tree Products

High-end farmhouse is something Pottery Barn does very well. Unfortunately, not everyone has the budget to embrace these beautiful items. This is when crafty skills come in handy — even more so when you've got an eye for turning discount items into elegant replicas. This is a skill YouTuber Heidi Sonboul DIY has mastered. Their footed white fruit bowl is a dead ringer for Pottery Barn's Costa Nova Pearl Stoneware version, with a few minor exceptions — one being the price. The original, though no longer available on Pottery Barn's website, costed $154, while the YouTuber claims theirs came in at under $5. Displaying fruit can improve your kitchen's feng shui, and this vessel is the perfect way to start.

Getting this look for yourself is easier and cheaper than you might expect. A beautiful home decor bowl is just one DIY away. All you need to recreate the look is to glue the bottoms of two particular Dollar Tree dishes together, adhere wooden half-beads to the rims, and coat the whole thing with caulk and paint. Check out some tips and tricks for making your own PB dupe on a dime.

Transforming your Dollar Tree supplies

Before starting this project, visit your local Dollar Tree for a Floral Garden Terrarium Dish, a 4-Inch Clear Plastic Bowl, and white latex caulk. You can pick up half-beads from Amazon as Heidi Sonboul DIY does in their video – the UUYYEO Half-Sphere Wooden Beads are an affordable choice. You'll also want some E6000 adhesive, hot glue, white paint, and a paintbrush. Once you've assembled your supplies, it's time to begin.

Start by gluing the bottom of the terrarium dish to the base of the small bowl. Adhere the half-beads to the rims to create the pearl edging, and coat the entire thing in caulking. The YouTuber's version isn't meant to mirror Pottery Barn's Costa Nova stoneware, but yours can. Enhance your version by adding ridges to the terrarium portion. Stripe the caulk upward from the base to the pearls to achieve this stylized finish. Once it's dry, paint it all white.

The YouTuber's matte dish gives a concrete vibe, but if you lightly sand and coat yours in gloss, it will shine more like PB's stoneware. Want a matching set? The Dollar Tree Plastic Crystal-Cut Salad Bowl makes a great mini version of the Emma Beaded Stoneware Footed Serving Bowl if you follow the same steps. These country-chic dishes offer a chance to decorate with fruit at home while maintaining a high-end look without the Pottery Barn price tag. Happy crafting!
