Use Dollar Tree Items To Create The Ultimate Drink Station For The Holidays

What's Christmas without a holiday-themed movie playing on the TV and a steaming hot mug of cocoa within your arm's reach? Even better if it comes with all the fancy fixings, including marshmallows, candy canes, tiny peppermint candies, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. However, you may not enjoy making a cup as much if you have to hunt around several drawers and cabinets for each ingredient. But instead of giving up your hot chocolate dream and settling for creative Christmas decorations you can make with household items, DIY a drink station using Dollar Tree items. You just need a few wooden boxes, crates, and planks to build a fancy hot cocoa bar.

The pretty drink station will make it easier for you to fix yourself a delicious cup of hot cocoa. Plus, it won't burn a hole in your pockets. Win-win! Ready to DIY a drink station to grace your kitchen's countertops this holiday season? Go to your local Dollar Tree and grab sixCrafter Square Wood Boxes, nine Rectangular Wooden Crates with Handles, and two Wood Planks. You'll also need a hot glue gun, a can of spray paint in your preferred shade, and some Chalkboard Stickers to make your drink station look high-end. In case this DIY seems too expensive, simply glue three wooden crates (vertically) and paint and decorate them for an adorable, albeit small, drink station.

How to DIY Dollar Tree drink station for the holidays

Once you have the listed supplies, glue the wood boxes and crates in sets of three. Now, attach the wood boxes to the planks at an angle, so it's easier to take out and add items to the individual boxes. Pile two crate sets back to back and attach the remaining one to the front. After the glue is cured, paint your drink station and let it dry. Finally, fill it with your favorite hot chocolate fixings and add the chalkboard tags for a store-bought look. Use tiny jars and draw snowmen on them with a Sharpie to stay true to the holiday theme. You could also repurpose your toothbrush holder to house your candy canes and other fixings. Add holiday-themed mugs, like these Large Stoneware Snowman Mugs, to the bottom of the crate and your drink station will be ready for use.

However, if this seems like too much work, DIY a drink station that requires less time and supplies. The easiest way is to get a few Rustic Christmas-Themed Trays and fill them with your favorite hot chocolate items for a cocoa charcuterie board. You could also create a tiered display using Glass Taper Candleholders as the separator. In case you have a few wine corks handy, substitute the candleholders with them. Although the tiers won't have much space between them for different items, you can decorate them with tinsel, string lights, miniature Christmas trees, and balls for a festive finish. You could even repurpose an old toolbox for a more cost-effective approach.
